Seniors . . . Bright Flame This class of 1946 may well be called the class of many changes. In our fresh- man year, we saw Father Doherty trans- ferred and took part in that momentous assembly to greet our new president, Father Witkowiak. VVe've seen our school day get shorter and shorter and tinally shrink to a halt-day session. First realization of our impending grad uation came at the Senior Supper. We had heard about it for so long, and now it was actually here. Soon the go-ahead signal to have class pictures taken was given, and there was a mad scramble to the photographers Orders for class rings, announcements, and fittings for gradua- tion gowns followed swiftly. We took time out to put on the class play and get behind the Play-Prom Project with a bang. Our last year is straining at the leash to be closed. Dancing at the Prom will make us happy and at the same time give us a little nudge of regret at its being our last Prom. Before we know it we'll be at the Senior Breakfast after You can see Father Uhen. Sherman, Smith. Ram- melt. Coach Dermody. 'g f ff . ' 747 I - l li .WIN an . 'H' 5' N N: ' . Won't the girls look a little strange in their civvies ? Then we'll attend the Award As- sembly Where recognition of achievements are handed out to the deserving. There it will be, that Shield, Band, Player, or Chorister pin we've worked so hard to obtain. Come evening, we'll trail up the aisle to the strains of a melody we'll never hear again without having a queer little lump creep into our throats. And as we listen to the Graduation address, one fact looms up swiftly and surely-why, it's over. The senior Choristers are Mares. Pfeiffer. Kiess- ling. Higgins. Bauernfeind. Arendt. Music is one of the most persuasive powers known to rnan. We learn to speak the international language of rnusic in choral and band classes. ln both departments, theory and appreciation are stressed, be- sides the actual practice.
