GLEE CLUB The Glee Club, under the untiring direction of Mrs. Daniel Murray, brings joy and entertain- ment to its audiences. This year's schedule began with a musical program at the R.I. Catholic Teachers Institute in Providence and closed with the annual St. Catherine-De La Salle joint con- cert. A highlight of the year was an unforgettable program of Christmas music presented by the combined Glee Club at a joint assembly of the two schools. Soloist Mary Cerrlyi sings at the joint glee clubs of St. Catherine and De LaSalle Academies. Cizjbymezzf gf ur Gufure Meeting with the governor during a visit to the State House are the Social Studies Club officers Mary Ferreira, Katherine Byron. Maria Osorio, and Alice Connelly. SGCIAL STUDIES CLUB A co-curricular activity of very practical value is the Social Studies Club. The members of this organization keep abreast of current affairs. They are also trained in the rules of parliamentary procedures. Under the direction of Sister William Margaret, the students acquire a deeper under- standing of our American way of life. 23

FRENCH CLUB Songs, games, skits and fun are the ingredients which go into the develop- ment of the French Club. This monthly meeting deepens the French students' in- terest in this foreign language. For the girls it is a change from the everyday class. Meeting with members of the Spanish class adds variety to the club. During the French Club, Pamela Braman, Ruth Covell, Carolyn Beam, Patricia Dwyer and Ann McMillan await the toss of the bean bag in the alphabet game. Guffure 1D Query anyuaye Preparing for a Latin Club meelirzg are Kathleen Connerton and Rosemary Cawley. LATIN CLUB Reaching into the past to the time of the Romans, the freshman Latin Club acquaints its members with the customs and manners of this early people. Vocab- ulary enrichment follows from the close relationship of our native English to Latin. With Sister Alfred Theresa as moderator, the club prepares for the Nationwide Latin Exams and the Know- English contest.
