ff . . fgr gefofofg grzkzy you yooofzifbflnys qfyfeafjby .... f At the Annunciation, Mary prepared herself to bring forth a Son who would come to redeem the world and give man a cause for joy. As she travelled with joseph to Nazareth, happiness concealed her weariness and fatigue. This happiness increased when she gave birth to a Savior, our Lord. When a girl first enters St. Catherine Academy, she experiences Mary's joy. As she begins her first year at the Academy, she begins her journey towards 77 graduation. With the aid and assistance of the Sis- ters of St. joseph, she feels a sense of assurance and confidence in Whatever she attempts. In learn- ing the varied curriculum, in giving her time to organizations, in participating in the many activities and in sharing the many joys in companionship, she happily lives the life of Mary. Throughout her four years at St. Catherine Academy, she learns the true meaning of Christian joy. A prac- tical use of this language is the vocal participation in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass by the entire student body. Sirter Alfred Theresa helps Constance Langstaff in translating a Latin sentence. MODERN LANGUAGES France beckons, Spain calls, and Academy students prepare for a hoped- for visit to these lands. The culture and customs of these countries are studied with the formal matter of the language, to provide a well-rounded course in modern lan- guages.
