Administration and Faculty FATHER ROMUALD PRINCIPAL MISS HOFFMAN For her constant service, her dedica- tion to the school, and her all around etticiency in the ottice and elsewhere. students are very gratetul. V SJ W . . . , g . L .- hh WE ARE ALL ONE BODY AND THAT BODY IS CHRIST. Con- sequently we must judge everything in our lives in terms ot Christ living and acting in us because that is what we are-other Christs sent as apostles ot Christ to bring the good news ot Gods Iove tor us into the world ot today. The outstanding characteristic ot Christ was His complete dedica- tion to the will ot His heavenly Father as manitested through the circumstances ot His lite. In His private lite He saw God's will in the commands ot His parents-theretore Scripture could summarize thirty years into a single statement: He went down to Nazareth and was obedient to His parents. ln His public lite Christ resolutely accept!d ditticulties and even opposition until the time was ready tor His complete surrender ot Himselt into the hands ot His heavenly Father on Calvary. To be true tollowers ot Christ we must love God with our whole strength and see the will ot God expressed in the circumstances. duties, ditticulties, even opposition in our state ot lite. True followers ot Christ will necessarily grow in personal dedication to the Father and theretore develop a strong sense ot responsibility to the tultill- ment ot the will ot the Father as manitested in the duties ot their particular state ot lite. Christ loved all men-He died and rose again to bring all men to the Father. He lives in us that we might love Him in others, even those whom we do not Iilce, even those who annoy us, even those who are our enemies. This twotold personal Iove ot the Father and ot neighbor will urge us on to give ourselves to God and to others and never to measure our lives in terms ot how much we can get by with. We will live intelligent, purposetul lives, using things and persons according to the purpose tor which God made them. Ot necessity we will see lite not as a means ot selt-gloritication but ot selt-dedication to the Father and to others. This Icincl ot Christ-like living will guarantee a happy lite both tor time and eternity. Christ did say: 'II am the way, the truth. and the lite. No one comes to the Father except through me. By this per- sonal dedication to the living Christ within us, we are certain to be on the way, in the truth, with the lite that wilt malce it possible tor us to reach our eternal goal. I am contident that all at St. Bernard's High sincerely want to live this lcind ot lite. Sometimes we may tail a bit-but God wants us to keep on trying to become SAINTS, SCHOLARS, LADIES AND GENTLEM EN. Father Romuald. OSB MR.
