McGuirk cL Thank You The lyrics to the song “To Sir With Love” ask, “How do you thank someone who has taken you from crayons to perfume... ’. Those words could be ours as we the Class of 1987, attempt to put into words the appreciation we feel for all that you have done for us. We want to thank you, MR. McGuirk for the time you gave to us. You were there for us, at all th e athlet- ic events, the rallies, the musicals, and the dances. Thank you for being our teacher, You shared your knowledge with us in chemistry and biology, and you taught us that learning could be fun. Thank you for being our Dean of Students. You pulled us back when we were way out of line. You were firm but fair with us, but more importantly you knew when a smile or a reassurance would do far more good than a reprimand. Thank you for being our class advisor. You never gave up On US, and with your help we were able to come together as a class. Your efforts enabled us to put on a J.S.R. that we were proud of. Nobody else could have brought out the best in us the way you did. Finally, thank you for being our friend. You loved us and it showed, and we are proud to be you last class. You are a special person. When in years to come we fondly think back on our high school days, some of our best memories will be the times you shared yourself with us. New York? Paris? No, St. Bernard’s second annual Mother-Daughter Tea. Once again senior girls and their mothers were quests at a tea and fashion show. Junior girls, faculty members, and mothers of juniors sported the latest fashions provided by Lerner’s. Faculty co-ordinators at the event were Paulette Grenier and Barbara McGuirk. : = = ; They clapped, they cheered, they cried, they laughed, they fell on the floor. We practiced, we painted, we sang, we joked, we lifted them up and we knocked them back down and we made sure, ‘Everybody Knew Your Name”. We will always remember The Time Warp, The Mary Jane Girls, The St. Bemards Studs, The News Reporters, and the fantastic singing. Our helpful advisors were Mr. Thomas McGuirk and Mrs. Julie Grenier. SOT § Sc ATHLETICS A great four years for athletes, topped recently by the championship run in basketball for the 1st time in 19 years. Field Hockey, ever strong, suffered a new hairy legged player this year, and the soccer team finished its best season. Hockey, as always, was a first rate team and football kept alive St. Bemnard’s pride with a sound home-coming victory and a winning season. ACADEMICS This year we graduate 171 students, a large class by St. Berrard’s standards. A great class, though, we've done it all. New academic clubs were found this year and even the NHS was uve an upgrading. Se ES eet ee ACTIVITIES JSK proved that STB is a place ‘“‘where everybody knows your name.’’ Blue and gold days, and weeks of spirit were just of all four years. And we are glad to welcome back the school musical. This year the halls are alive with “The Sound of Music,’’ so to speak. There were formals and dances, even one for Dad.
