Gin aG Freshmen were given the name of “‘their’’ senior on the morning before September . Seniors were allowed to do whatever they wanted to ‘‘their’’ frosh. Entertainment that night brought back some J.S.R. fame. Such classic numbers as ‘Feelings’, Gladys Night and the Pips, and the Blues Brothers were performed. Freshmen had a lot of fun playing “Old McDonald ’, entering the disco dance contest, guessing senior nicknames, and partaking in a wheel barrel race. The Highlight of the night came with a freshman-senior dance. Freshmen-Senior Night was a huge success; a good time was had by all! Father-Daughter Dance It was a first... a father and senior-daughter dance. The date was October 16, 1981. The girls arrived in their newly bought evening gowns, escorted proudly by their dads. The dinner began at 7:30, and was followed by an evening of dancing. It was truely a memorable evening. Halloween It wasn't a typical day at St. Bernard's! The 2nd Annual Halloween Costume Day, sponsored by the Booster Club, was a time when unique costumes filled the halls with their goolishly gar- ish appearance. All-School Variety Show ae Pabe be eth . 2 . eeaP abose leony eit ef eae ‘Sein aeg Stacead | rire cere yyiat: Paehe SS aaadee ad The Variety Show held on Octo- ber 22, 1981, was a new event in Bernardian history. A number of tal- ented students from every class par- ticipated to make the show a great success. Although all the acts were well done, no one will ever forget the ‘Beach Boys.” 73 Homecoming Every class enters senior year intending to start its own traditions. Well, the class of ‘82 has fulfilled its intentions by starting the new, tradition of Homecoming Week. During the week, to increase our spirit and school pride, we held many activities ranging from Blue and Gold Day to Chivalry Day to an assembly in honor of Coach Carew to the dedication of Alumni Hall. The homecoming court consisted of Freshmen, Christine Cormier and Richard Fuller; Sopho- mores, Karen DiConza and Peter Zarrella; Juniors, Mary Curley and Peter Cassinari; and Seniors, Rose Fortier and Tim Keane. The king and queen were Seniors, Christopher Comeau and Geralyn Sloven- kai. Although we lost the homecoming game to the Naps of Holy Name, we fought hard and had nothing to be ashamed of. In mind, Homecoming Week was a success and hopefully will continu: e on as a tradition that began with the class of ‘82. The seniors were directed under the guidance of Sr. Mary Teresa. The cast did a tremendous job. Retreat Barlin Acres was the scene of the retreats for the class of 1982. It was an enlightening and moving exper- ience for all who attended. Much thanks are given to Father Hannigan and Sister Anne Fournier for their devotion to this special time in our senior year. The retreat’s theme can be best expressed in the following: Lift High The Cross Lift high the cross, the love of God proclaim Till all the world adore His sacred name.
