1979 TRACK Robert Merrow David Farnsworth On the 1979 Track team, Tom Farineau and Mike Manago led in the shotput; Paul Legere and Bill Bourque in the discus hurl. The javelin throwers included Bill Donahue, Pat Donnelly, and Bruce Carbone. On the pole vault were Jim Barassi, Alan Fontaine and John McBrine; in the high jump—Jim Bilotta, Paul Boudreau, and Rick Leger; in the long jump and triple jump events—John Farnsworth closely tailed by Bob Lomme and Tom Marcoulier; the quarter mile relay—Paul David, Tom Chaisson, Art Steffenberg, Jim Barassi; Half-miler, Francis Burns; Leader in the low hurdlers, Paul David. i Qualifying for the District Meet, held on Saturday, May 19 were: Almetha Ford and Brenda Whitney, discus throwing; Michele Carbone and Laura Kent, javelin hurling; Kathy McNabb, running the mile and Debbie Coggshall, the 2-mile race; Joan Nowlin and Michele Carbone, the low hurdles; Moira Keating, the high jumping and 440-yard dash. Coach: Jim Burns ae ‘ 5, Sse In the freshman-sophomore meet at Crocker Field, St. Bernard’s girls set a new record in the 440. Participating were Leslie Rollo, MaryBeth Martin, Moira Keating, and Shelly Tossi. Other girls on the Track team were: Juniors—Robin Arceci, Lisa Berube, Lorie Lynch, Maureen Martin, Eliza McFadden, Maryanne’ Reynolds, Paula Richard. Sophomores: Celeste Caron, Lori Dandini, Kathleen Reynolds, Colleen Shannon, Susan Smith.
