Iwenty-three Sisters of the Presentation are on the te aching staff of St. Bernard’s High School. The foundress of the order, Nano Nagle, has been called the Deborah of her people. Educated in France and later entering Parisian society, she renounced her life of affluence to espouse the cause of her poverty-striken, persecuted Irish people. She died in 1784. Today her Sisters carry on her work in every part of the world. On September 17, 1969 an English Presentation sister was killed in an air raid over Biafra.
