The SBHS Math club came into existence in 1965. The best mathematicians in the four classes were the charter members. Stephen Martin was elected treasurer and Margaret Sanborn, secretary. In the Math fair, Stephen Martin won first place; Thomas Robillard, second place, and Susan Ready, a third-place rating. The class of 68 was the first to benefit, for four years, from the new four-story addition to the main building consisting of ten general usage classrooms and four specialized laboratories. Due to this new addition, a freshman class of 255 was admitted. We had six homerooms on the top floor. The end of September saw many freshmen taking part in the annual Diocesan Declamation contest: Clare Antil, Barbara B land, Michael Burns, Thomas Burke, Gale Carfagna, George Bilotta, Sandra Carnivale, Lucille Cormier, Ann Dargis, Stephen Keating, Anne Leger, Steven May, Sandra Morand, Mark O’Connor, Leo Piro, Jane Plette, William Reed, Annette Rheault, Madeline Thibault, Annette Vachon, Caretha Watkins, Pamela Fraser, Deborah Krauss.
