I4 nfezgdad ' On November 9th, St. Bernard was privileged to host a group of very bright Japanese students. The day started out with donuts and orange juice in the library, where Fr. Kidney spoke to them about SBHS. The students then were taken on a tour of the classrooms, and while walking the halls, they became quite fascinated with the hall decorations for Homecoming Week. At lunchtime, the students were able to mingle with the student body in the court yard and participate in the homecoming lunch ac- tivities. After lunch, the students observed a mock Stu- dent Council meeting put on by our student body. The purpose of this was to give the Japanese students a taste of how our school government is established. The day ended with a volleyball game between the Japanese students and SBHS students. This day was a very historic one not only for SBHS, but also for the country, itself. To think that at one time the Japanese were once considered to be an enemy to the American people and the American government, and here are the newer generation visiting America and being treated and welcomed with open arms. We will truely cherish this day and this experience. . 'sg - we 'nt - ACTIVITIES 41
