Marathon so 3 it is at 5 25 rl w gt l The Cultural Affairs Committee at St. Bernard College sponsored a play entitled Marathon on Monday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. in the Brahma Room. Th play was a capsuled view of the philosophy and techniques used by the Marathon House, a rehabilitation house for drug addicts. l Eight ex-addicts, ages 15 to 23 years old, who are presently residents of the House, recreated scenes that took place during addiction and rehabilitation. Indirectly they also made an effective commentary on our society and the circumstances that lead people to drug abuse. While the pIay's content used drugs as the basic theme, it is really all about communication. It did not preach the evils of drug abuse . . . it rather l said, Don't cop out turn on to yourself and others without drugs. The play presented a challenge to communicate and to care. t After the action of the play was over there was a period of audience participation.
