AMBROSE CLARK, ۰ Latin, Benedict News Moderator Along with being the faculty adviser to the Benedict News, Father Ambrose in troduces the Juniors to Cicero and the evil Cataline, and the Seniors to Virgil's Aeneid. Very often it happens that a particular word has a synonym that 5 practically extinct, then Father Ambrose declares, This, gentlemen, is your word for the day. The Virgilian scholar then proceeds to explain the etymology of the word Father Ambrose is often asked, Read any good dictionaries lately? REV. PATRICK McCAFFERTY, O.S.B. Latin Along with instructing the Freshman in the essentials of the Latin language, Father Patrick finds time to serve as as sistant librarian. Prior to his arrival at St. Benedict's, Father was curate at Blessed Sacrament in Elizabeth. REV. ANTONY KOVACS, O.S.B. Mathematics Considered by some to be the bete noir of the library, Father Anthony also teaches Freshman Algebra Although we have never encountered him in his teaching capacity, we learned of him through the reports of his present classes. Father spent three years teach- ing at Delbarton before coming to the Bee Hive 2 MR. JAMES IRVING French, English Mr. Irving came to the Bee Hive in the fall of '55, and since that time has proven himself an excellent teacher. Addressing his students with the classic title mister , he holds the class spell bound with his fluent French and knowl- edge of Gallican culture. REV. BRENDAN CASH, O.S.B. English Aftér serving as curate in Wilmington, Delaware and St. Joseph's, Maplewood, Father Brendan came to St. Benedict's and was appointed Freshman English teacher. Father Brendan associates with the rest of the student body in the per formance of his job as assistant ۵ Father Matthew in the library. MR. RALPH CONFESSORE Biology Mr. Confessore graduated from the Hive and enlisted in the Air Force, in which he served two years as a rocket specialist. He then attended Seton Hall University and graduated with a B.S. de gree in chemistry. He is the new mem- ber of St. Benedict 's faculty who teaches biology.
