I' BLIC RELATIU H The value of learning to work with others cooper- atively, peacefully, and profitably is gained thru the democratic practice of participating in public relations work. At St. Benedict Central these include The March of Dimes, Junior Red Cross Membership, Com- munity Chest, Ohio Citizenship, Senior Aptitude Test, Tuberculosis Stamp Sale and Essay Contest, all of which are sponsored by local groups of the community. During the Lenten season the students make sacri- fices to help others through the Bishop's Relief Fund Why I Am Glad I Am an American was the in- spiring subject presented to the students of St. Bene dict Central by the noted speaker, Dr. R.C. Young on leave of absence from the University of Georgia. The pleasure of hearing the most sought after speak er in the U.S. was truly a great honor. The students and faculty of St. Benedict express their appreciation to Mr. Robert A. BIIWLI G The students pictured on this page comprise the ten teams of Saint Benedict's 1955- 1956 bowling league. Although this is not the first year we have bowled, this marks the initial showing of bowling in our yearbook, the BEN HI SAN. The Captains of the teams are: Phyllis Weekley, Ronald Weiskircher, Arthur Kuhnash, Barbara George, David Richards, Gene Sulek, Adele Jamail, Patricia Saliba, Joe Reardon, and Thomas Eyen. On them falls the duty of seeing that everything connected with the bowling teams runs smoothly. So here's a thanks for their fine work and conscientiousness during the year. 45
