Particularly in our youth is that firmness valuable. The vigorous daring and enthusiasm of our early years tug and twist and squirm against any guidance. Its needs must be firm and solid. The Church, though kind and patient in our temptations, never even pretends to compromise. The road is always pointed out and marked, the dangers indicated, and fearless protection assured us. We should be considerate with those who do not know its authori- ty, but never under-estimate the gift of our holy faith or be even tempted to apologize for any of its teachings.
