QA yy 5, 55 xl LK .fl Q fi? -' we I I Z A I Looking b6ZCk over our four years at St. Benedict's, we the Senior Class of 1955, realize how far we have advanced from timid freshmen. With S.B.A.'s guiding baton, we matured through studies, not aware then, that these Latin verbs and algebra equations would be the founf dation stone of our knowledge, not only to prepare us for Spanish or bookkeeping, but also to meet the world a little more enlightened. Then, a little further on the scale, S.B.A. implanted in us an initiative to work together through our class parties, plays and dances, bringing out a lit' tle more of the individual. Besides these aspects of life, S.B.A. also played an effective part, in the most important, our spiritual achievement. Through bifmonthly Masses and retreats, S.B.A. helped our religion to be a living part of our existence. How far we will advance on our scale of purpose can only be known with life's closing chord, but we shall always remember SBA. as the Prelude to Greater Things. fa, If Jffilf if IAN Q-H-H 41' TO HIS EXCELLENCY MLDST REV. Chosen from all homerooms they check locker permits and are generally helpful throughout the school, The Student Council meets in Room E to plan activities. To SC members and studentfaides, the major chord of S.B.A. harmony, we pay tribute for a very successful and memorable school year. Stu' dent Council, the tie between teachers and stu' dents, has fulfilled its purpose, achieving its aim, this year being the promotion of school spirit, the soul of the SBA. family. Because of them, the sparks of school spirit have been reenkindled, once more becoming a warm glowing flame vvithf in each student. Studentaides, too, msrit note, worthy praise for really proving themselves aiding and helpful to the students. To them do we attribute the quiescent order in the school corridors. ll S.B.A. Giiflk Elmo! Spirit Exemplz ed A smile is the sign of success, which holds true for RITA RINDERLE. S.B.A. GIRL OF 1957. who proud' ly reniinisces through four years of gratifying accomplishment. Do good and you shall prohtf' How well these words fit Rita Rinderle. our model senior. From her freshman year to the ref ceiving of her diploma, Rita has heen hehind and in every project at S.B,A., giving her all to make it a success, and attrihuting that success to everyone else. Her willingness and cofoperation have won her friends in every class and her stick-tofitftiveness has carried us through many a hlaek and dismal time making the sun hreak through at the last moment. Being on Student Council for four years, We can truly say If every other stu' dent followed my example is especially ap' plicable to Rita, for her cheerfulness and evenftemper make her the unanimous choice of the students and faculty for the honor given her. Upon launching our yearbook we must first extend our gratitude to those who have endured so patiently this time with us. We sincerely thank Mr. Hipp and Mr. Gardner and all the employees at Erie Engraving and Erie Printing Companies for their helpful suggestions and complimentary work, and for having turned out the completed, polished Scholastican. Clear, meaningful pictures can be attributed to the photographic activities of Ray Francis. Due to the constant surveillance and patient guidance of Sister Marie Celine, Sister Mary Louis, and Sister M. Theophane we have met our deadlines. Though last mentioned, never in the least forgotten, the two staffs who have relived our past, survived the crisis and have emerged victorious in our 1955 Scholastican. In this brief column we cannot attempt to list all those responsible for our success, neither can words show our thanks. To all concerned we express our sincerest thank you in real appreciation.
