During the school season, as a sideline, the B-D has sponsored many public proiects. Annually the Staff presents its Press Dance for the entertainment ct the S, B. A. girls and their company and which is also open to the public. To raise funds they sponsor card parties, food sales, and cther activities which bring their parents and friends to S. B. A. The BAD has recently invited wellfknown writers such as the Very Reverend Msgr, Wm. L, Franklin and Mr. Wesley First to speak at general assemblies in the school auditorium. Because ot its achievements in the tield ot journalism the BENE DICTUM Staff has been cited by the outstanding organizations The Quill and Scroll, and Catholic Press Association, This year six members merited special awards from both organizations at a student-body pro- gram at which Rev. lames E.
