MARGUERITE DEIANNI, B.A., M.A., Instructor of Spanish and English, graduated from Marymount College where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree. ln her junior year at College, she studied Spanish at the University of Madrid. Miss Delanni returned to New York University to receive her Master of Arts degree. After her graduation, she lived in Spain where she taught Spanish, and English as a second language. Miss Delanni returned to New York in December of 1971. Her interests are ice skating and reading. MYROSLAV BORYSIUK, PH.M., M.A., PH.D, Instructor of Latin, Dr. Borysiuk, received his Master of Philosophy degree in classics from the University of Lviv, where later he was appointed Assistant Professor of Greek. He spent two years in Rome, studying classical culture and deep- ening his field of specialization: pre-Homeric religion. After his arrival in the United States, Dr. Borysiuk studied at Columbia University where he received his Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in classics. Moses Hadas, commenting in Newsweek of the current crop of American classicists, referred to Professor Bory- siuk's dissertation at Columbia in these words: This is a doctoral thesis by one of my students. lt's about Plutarch-and it's written entirely in Latin. He didn't have to do that. I should be very proud, don't you think, that one of my students strove for such excellence? Professor Borysiuk is an active member of the American Philological Association, the New England Philological Association, and the Canadian Philological Association. He is listed in the Directory of American Scholars, VVho's Who in the East?, Outstanding Educators of America, Dictionary of International Biography and Prominent Ukralnians in America. 15

ROMAN RQMANYSHYN, B.A. was born and raised in Ukraine. Following his graduation from Ternopil Teacher's Col- lege he taught there from 1940-1949. In 1950 he emigrat- ed to Hartford, Connecticut, where he taught at St. Michael's Ukrainian School for nineteen years. ln 1955, Mr. Romanyshyn became principal of that school and was responsible for transforming it into what is now probably the best Ukrainian evening parochial school in America. Mr. Romanyshyn teaches all Ukrainian courses at St. Basil's and is moderator of the Ukrainian Club. A master wood-carver, Mr. Romanyshyn also gives instruction in wood carving to interested students. Dl iii ' Fi l i Ii' 1AcQuELiNE LANGE, B.A., MA. Instructor of all French courses, was born and raised in French Canada. She studied at Quinnipiac College where she received her Associate of Arts degree. She continued her education, majoring in French and Spanish, at Southern Connec- ticut State College where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree. She has received her Master of Arts degree at Southern Connecticut State College. During the sum- mer of 1971, Miss Lange studied Spanish at the University of Valencia. Before coming to St. Basil's Miss Lange taught French and mathematics at the School of St. Louis in West Haven, Connecticut. She is moderator of the French Club. Miss Lange belongs to the American Asso- ciation of Teachers of French.

IOSEPH LUKIW, B.A., M.s., After serving three years in the U.S. Army, lvlr. Lukiw entered Fairfield University where he received a B.A. degree majoring in education. He then studied reading at the University of Bridgeport where he was awarded a Master of Arts degree. He holds a State Certificate as a Reading Consultant and was for some time a member of the Reading Laboratory of the University of Bridgeport. At present he is a member of the New Canaan, Connecticut, School System. He is a member of the International Reading Association, the Connecticut Education Association, the National Educa- tion Association, and the New Canaan Education Asso- ciation. Mr. Lukiw teaches developmental reading and study skills at St. Basil's.
