OUR CLASS HISTORY In August of 1975, the class of '79 embarked on that incredible journey known as Falconland. How time flysl Many things have changed since our first advisor, Ms. Carmen Comer, helped us to establish a firm foundation for our two years of growth. She was a friend to everyone. Our first year saw the election of class officers. Keith Phillips was elected president, Felicia Bennett, our outspoken vice-president, Deborah Middleton was the ever so dependable secretary, and Marshall Sawyer was elected to be our money man. Soon we were mighty sophomores with that reputation to get off! One year down and three more to go. We put our democratic vote to work by electing Steve Jumper as president, Marchita Bryant, secretary, Wanda Freeman was our vice-presidentg and again, Marshall Sawyer kept the bank warm. Our second year passed and two more years faced us. We were anxious juniors thinking ahead to our senior year. We elected Robert Ford president of the junior class. Vice- president was Marshall Sawyer. Miss Jennifer Battles read the minutes of our meetings, and took them down, of course. Our treasurer this year. . . no ......... not Marshall Sawyer, but Harvey Heartley. Well, here we are! Talk about ready to start off on an exciting cruise down Falconland. The seniors are already talking about their rings and their degrees, their newwwwwwww annnnnnnd spaaaaaarkling Cadillac! Everything is just rush, rush, and more rush. Robert Ford was re-elected president, and his vice-president fours tool was Miss Theresa Whitaker. Miss Gloria Early was our secretary, and Michael A. Williams handled the green. ln the midst of all the elections, fun, and classes, came special events. Among them were lyceum programs, assemblies, talent and fashion shows, and music recitals. We are the future black leaders of America. Not only can we change things, but we MUST change them, for it is essential to Black Americans that we provide quality leadership as young blacks, but more importantly, as educated young people NOT MERELY TO SUFIVIVE-BUT TO CONQUEFl!!!!!!!
