MEMBERS ALL-OOUNIYTEAM This year the St. Augtme Record honored the high schools in this county by selecting the most outstanding football players for the 1964 season from each high school for the All-County High School Football Team. St. Augustine High has the pleasure of having five mogt outstand- ing players selected from its team. These boys have given forth fine ef- fort and capability this season. QENIOB OLAQQ HIQORY As we began our Freshman year we were dazzled by the hard work and varied activities of SAHS; How well we remember our first chance to display our talents during homecoming. Our enthusiasm and hard work paid off as we received second place in both the skits and the floats. We chose for our Class song Theme from a Summer Place. We decided our flower was to be a white rose, and our motto Look Ahead to Better Goals. As sophomores we were finally acquainted with the school life of SAHS. We excitedly joined many clubs and went through the first initiations. When our second homecoming came around, our class again worked together to win the skits and place second in the floats. Our class successfully sponsored the Miss SAHS Contest, and we had our first glimpse of graduation activities when we put on Graduation for the Class of 1963. Finally we were upperclassmenl We had reached the half-way mark of our high school career. We undertook the responsibility of sponsoring homecoming and again took first place in the skits. We enjoyed our first chance to be big brothers and sisters by initiating our club's new members. Shortly before Christmas we received the distinctive symbol of upper- classmen--our rings. By the sale of magazines we raised money to put on our first Junior- Senior Prom, which was a great success. The year had come. All too soon we found ourselves Seniors. Along with our new status was the acquisition of Senior privileges. We experienced the fun and work of Senior Barbecues and our diligent efforts set a new record for Senior Classes. We worked hard on many fund raising projects all for one goa1--the Senior Class Trip. All the work and time involved seemed at times just too much, but after the trip we all knew that we wouldn't trade our experiences and memories with our fellow Seniors for anything. As the year reaches its end, many of us realize that four years is actually a very short time. Our thoughts now turn to Graduation, where we will become SAHS alumni and where we, the Class of 1965, will, for the last time as a group, sing these words. . . . Hail to thee St. Augustine High School It's Maroon and Gold. Stands our noble Alma Mater Glorious to behold. Far abOVe the busy humming Of our quaint old town, Reared against the arch of heaven Looks she proudly down.
