Secretary of State JO MILLER GUY BATSEL , f, ' SAM BENNETT GIRLSi AND BOYSi STATE The purpose of Girls' and Boys' State, which is sponsored by the American Legion-Auxiliary Depart- ment of Florida, is to give those students who attend a chance to participate in the governmental affairs of our state, enabling them to become better citizens. Delegates are chosen locally from among Juniors in high school for their merit as citizens, students, and leaders, and exercise their ability by running for the various city, county, and state offices.
