Tommy Gougenheim holds the award he re- ceived in a city-wide art contest sponsored by the Junior League. Beside him is his drawing with its ribbon. Tommy drew the design for our cover, and the river scene on the page opposite the foreword as well as all the illustrations in the book. Artie Lee Dollinger is over- joyed with the beautiful pin she received for being St. Anthonv's winner in the nation-wide Betty Crocker Homemaking Test. A familiar scene to anyone who frequented the third floor! Faithful staff members at work are Antoinette Daleo, Joe Vander- holt and Grace Miller. The Girls' Sodality has taken as one of its projects giving birthday parties for the elderly ladies at the Sabine Oaks Home. Sinn- no birthday fell in February, and since' llll' partie-s giym- such joy to the ladies. the girls gave thorn a Valentine party.

Motllersi lub Although this club is not composed of students, all of its work is done for the students of the high school. Tl1e membership consists of mothers of the students and anyone interested in helping the school. This year the Mothers' Club raised S5000 to help pay for the new homemaking building, bought equip' ment for the homemaking department, paid for buses to transport the Blue Battalion and cheerleaders to and from out of town games, gave jackets to the Junior girls who had served in the drum and bugle corps for three years, and raised money to help defray the expenses for the Genesian Players, trip to San Antonio for the play festival. The major events of the year were three. Mrs. Maxwell Teare was chairman of the committee for soliciting funds for the homemaking building. This committee turned in S281950. The bingo netting S1127.00 was under the direction of Mrs. Ben Toomey. The style show, with Mrs. B. D. Chunn as chairman, netted 31227.75 Officers: Mrs. B. L. Thompson, Hospitality Chairman, Nlrs. R. Wood, Room Mother Chairman, Mrs. ..l. R. Yenza, President, Mrs. G. J. Giardina, Treasurer, Mrs. R. N. Etie, Secretary, Mrs. M. Decuir, Membership Chairman, Mrs. H. Oxford, Program Chairman, Mrs. M.
