Tommy Gougenheim holds the award he re- ceived in a city-wide art contest sponsored by the Junior League. Beside him is his drawing with its ribbon. Tommy drew the design for our cover, and the river scene on the page opposite the foreword as well as all the illustrations in the book. Artie Lee Dollinger is over- joyed with the beautiful pin she received for being St. Anthonv's winner in the nation-wide Betty Crocker Homemaking Test. A familiar scene to anyone who frequented the third floor! Faithful staff members at work are Antoinette Daleo, Joe Vander- holt and Grace Miller. The Girls' Sodality has taken as one of its projects giving birthday parties for the elderly ladies at the Sabine Oaks Home. Sinn- no birthday fell in February, and since' llll' partie-s giym- such joy to the ladies. the girls gave thorn a Valentine party.

Sister Marie Therese, played by Grace Miller, questions Bernadette, p l a y e d by Katherine Fannette, in a school- room at Lourdes. One of the dramatic highlights of the year was the Genesian Players' production of The Song of Bernadette. Presented during early Lent, this was the first play ever presented in theater-in-the-round at St. Anth0ny's. ln this style of production, the audience sits on all four sides of the playing area, and the actors enter and exit at the four corners of the arena. The play was unique not only for its production style, but be- cause it was operated entirely by students. All phases of directing, producing, and technical work were handled by students. ln the cast were: Janet VVhite, Katherine Fannette, Joe Fertitta, Patricia Lindsey. Barbara fVIandry, Grace Miller, Margaret Ann Boykin, Jimmy Thweatt, Laura Burnett, Anthony Barranco, Pat Clesi, Vera Rae Baker, Charles Guajardo, Joe Vanderholt, David Browning, Johnny Phelan, Gertrude Elissalde, Jo Frances Giardina, Nancy Langdon, Artie Lee Dollinger, Mary Ellen Durdin, Kathleen Bettis, and Ann Shofner. On the technical staff were: Jack Dinkins, Walttir Voigtman, Neutsie Culotta, Sandy Stone, Rufus Chavez, Jack McGinnis, Nlaureen Toomey, Jane Toomey, and Joe Vanderholt, the director. Above, Bernadette is seen in the grotto where the Blessed Virgin appeared to her. Dr. Dozous, played by Johnny Phelan.arrives at the iNIayor's office to discuss the visions. Others are the police chief, David Brown- ing, and the mayor. Joe Vanderholt.
