You have gone one step further along your plan in life—Youth through manhood with the Sacred Heart. Now that vou are to leave St. Anthony of Padua, youi Alma Mater, resolve to offer your life, your actions, rings glorify that Most Sacred Heart. Continue in your stead- fast purpose to belong only to Him, to do everything for love of Him, and to renounce absolutely all that could displease Him. The school concerns itself not just with the advancement of learning but with the advancement of character. It does so through its Guidance system. At the beginning of each semester a retreat is held. It is an opportunity for the students to recollect them- selves, away from the cares of the world, and get set for the period to come. The school fosters religious voca- tions at the conferences on Thursdays, held for aspirants to the Priesthood or Brotherhood. Virtue is also encouraged by the reading of a short tract from a Saint’s life at mealtime. Fr. Cajelan conducts a guidance session with Richard Regula. Dave Parzych reads a Saint's Life. Joe Sredinski and John Halicks set out the Missal and Altar John LaSalle and Henry Poczobut put on serving attire while cards. Mike Gulas prepares for singing. Dave Parzych serves in main Chapel. Each morning these five Seniors and five Juniors sacrifice an hour of their sleep to serve and sing Mass for the Fathers. What they lose in sleep they gain in graces. Rich Lesczynski lights candles and Joe Iaciofoli sets out cruets. Frank Yamot fixes vestments as Tom Walczak checks Mass to be sung. PROFESSED. Officially, the school librarian teaches through the medium of the library rather than the classroom.
