1 D ediuitim Whenever we look back on the year recorded in these pages, we will not forget the death of Pius XII, the first pope We knew as chil- dren. We dedicate to him this PADUAN for the year 1959 as our small way of honoring him and thanking him for giving us the last nineteen years of his life. May the Spirit of Wisdom and Counsel enlighten his successor, Pope John XXIII, that he may guide the Church into a world blessed with peace.
