an ML I QCUfI'l .... .Q .Q lt is permissible, is it not, even in the field of athletics, to dream beautiful dreams? May l share mine with you, dear Reader? ln the early days of September l948, an eager student body will return to S.A.H. to take up again the familiar chores. But for our football players, Work - and hard work - under a sweltering sun will have been the order of the day since the middle of August. By this time, the squad will be in shape, physicallyg mentally, they will be learning to work as a unit. With the beginning of school, the rougher tactics Will begin: an almost daily scrimmage will take toll of those players who are not up to the rigorous sport, and by the end cf September, they X will be ready for the first , game. Every man on the squad will have had a year's ex- perience, and such de- pendable gridders as the following Will make an outstanding line and back- field: Roger Gaudreau, All-Narragansett Guard , Raymond Rainville, rough, tough, and fast tackle, Roland Laperle, Cas a Freshman in '47 rnacle first team and played almost every minute cf S.A.l-l.'s games? an All-Narragan- sett of the future: Conrad Fortin and Normand Col- let, both fine, hard-working and capable ends. The backfield will have Romeo Richard at one of the three positions tmy guess is half- backl with Donald Lemen- ager or Robert Caron at quarter back, Richard Ba- chand at the other half- back slot, and Ronald For- tin as a bang-up full-back. Have we not here the mak- ings of a championship team? Oh, most marvel- ous dream! Shall I continue? When the leaves of Autumn will have been carried away and snow will have made its appearance, attention will be focused on the bas- ketball court. Again S. A. i H. should have a much improved outfit. All the fellows will have survived i 75 1 7.

Eugene Croteau, a good prospect in my estimation, should improve considerably. With these lads at the helm, the opponents will know they were in a game. 5 v T' vt - Q ovfv X O 30,40 AOA AAOAAAAA M M M bo 91 L 5 Q v A 1 Vg' 04 s' ' 9 ' Q' S . A coach is not qualified unless he is able to train his men to play the game which spectators are eager to attend He is not experienced unless he possesses the knowledge and skill necessary to train his men The students of SAH. are indeed proud of their coach, Mr. Moses Sahadi the man who is responsible for the fine performance of our athletes: the man who for two long years, has been trying to place St. Anthony at the top of the ladder Hts undying interest and his unfailing perseverance have enabled our boys to Win squarely or to lose honorably. ln every game, our players have been guided by the principles of good sportsmanship: principles The student body of this school are grateful for the many hours spent in the perfecting of our team in fact, Coach Sahadi has made it a never say die team The seeds of success have been sown: they will soon come to harvest.
