Berend Pastoor, our foreign exchange stu- dent, celebrated his nineteenth birthday this past December 9th. He was born in Wor- kum, population 4,000. in the province of Friesland in the Netherlands. In his country, Berend already graduated from high school. Next year he is planning to attend college and major in economics. Berend became a very active and popular member of our school. He participated in the following: band and pep band (trumpet). Annual Staff, Swing Choir, track, FFA, and in making the award-winning speech video this year. Jerry and Marilyn Schotanus were Ber- end's American host parents. The Annual Staff wishes you well, Ber- end. Thanks for all your hard work and all the laughs you gave us! 28
