LaMedica IOR Brother Chanel convened one of the first sodality meetings at St. Ann's by saying, Boys, this is a Marian Year. No surprised expression came upon the faces of the so- dalists, for at St. Ann's every year is a Marian year. The Sodality of Our Blessed Virgin has again started another year successfully. The Sodality always has and always will special- ize in spiritual betterment. The Sodality's Moderator this year is Brother Chanel. No matter how engaged the Sodality is in ex- tra-curricular activities, Brother Chanel al- ways reminds his sodalists of their aims which are: To foster ardent devotion toward the Blessed Virgin Mary. To sanctify self, to sanctify one's neigh- bor, and to defend the Church. The first social project the Sodality of St. Ann's put on this year was the Halloween Dance. The night before the dance and the day of the dance, Brother Chanel and some A. lal, J. Cummings, W. Gleich, J. Sylvander P. Kelly, D. Swartz, M. Keating, J. Deasy, McGettricl1, J. Babuscio, R. 'ODALITY of the sodalists decorated the gym beauti- fully. This dance was to decide it any more social activities sponsored by the Sodality would be held here at St. Ann's. The dance was such a success that Brother Chanel de- cided we were to have a dance every six weeks. Of course this meant much work for Brother Chanel and his sodalists, but it seems that the more work you give them the more they enioy it. The Winter Wonderland Dance held on December T9 also proved to be a success. As usual the Sodality still holds its weekly ' Mass. Besides Friday Mass, the Sodality con- trols the food drive for the Little Sisters of the Poor, the collection of magazines and the collection of old clothes for the poor. As long as there is an organization like this, the Blessed Virgin will be pleased, and the world will be a better place to live in. Jack LaVecchia K. Quinn, J. McHugh, L. Kealy, C. Knadler.
