EIGHTH GRADE Frozen was To put our eight years of memories down in a brief space would be, of course, impossible. We cannot leave our grammar school, however, without mention of some outstanding names and events. Looking back, we see our notable Brother Directors, Bro. Linus Wil- liam and Bro. John Lawrence, as deserving of special thanks. The school chaplain who gave us our first Holy Communion, Rev. Father Gmur, will always live in our memories, though he was taken from us a year ago. His successor, Father Fleurant, has our gratitude for the wonderful guidance he gave. Of special import to our choir boys was the keen inter- est taken in them by Monsignor Greene. And to name each of our teachers would be to leave ourselves speechless when it came to expressing gratitude. Words cannot repay them. The events that crowd into each day at the bee- hive vie for first place in our memories. The winning honors go to the annual May devotions, without doubt, and also to this year's impressive visit of the Fatima Pilgrim Virgin. We are proud of our record in this last year of grammar school. We broke the all-time class total for the Thanksgiving food drive, came in second in the annual raffle, led the school in mission contributions, and published our own class paper, Loyalty. There were some hectic days, too. The all-important entrance exams for high schools had us all working hard, as did those final prepara- tions for the Regents Tests and graduation. The Late Show provided swift dispensation of iustice when we wandered ofT the straight and narrow and not every weekly report card went on display in the living room. All in all, we think we leave behind a fine record, one to be striven after by future eighth grades. ln parting, we extend once more our sincere and lasting thanks to all those who have made those years of growing up so happy.
