It is, as far as they know, the only way of coming upstairs, but some- times they feel that there really is another way, if only they could stop clonking long enough to think about it. Anyhow, they are here and ready to be introduced to you. Winnie-the-Pooh. When I first heard the name, I said, just as you are going to say, i'But I thought it was a whole Classln So did I, said Christopher Robin. Then you can't call them XVinnic? 'LI don't.,' But you said- They're Winnie-ther-Pooh. Don't you know what 'ther' means? Oh, yes, now I do ll' I said quickly, and I hope you do too, because it is all the explanation you're going to get. What about telling Winnie-the-Pooh a story? asked Christopher Robin. I suppose I could. What sort of stories do they like? About themselves. Because they're that sort. So could you very sweetly? l,ll try,,, I said. So I tried.
