On one cool leafy day, the school enthusiastically participated in Oktoberfest. The student council sponsored the day and planned it's activities. Amongst these were fun filled antics including a massive leaf raking contestg won by ST. Ioe's. This was followed by a student-faculty volleyball game, which the students lost. When dusk crept upon us we retreated into the gym for a Halloween dinner and party. Tired and Weary after raking over 600 bags of leaves, happily we trudged back to our dorms. 50 kt 0 ,V ,, . They call themselves the Voice Class . A Tribute to the Student Council Through the years, St. Anne's Student Council has been one of the most active organizations on campus. This year is far from an exception. The Student Council holds regular meetings for officers and for its members. When an issue comes up that needs a majority vote from the school body, the Council calls an assembly to discuss the issues at hand with the student body. The Council and the students then, call them- selves the School Council. The Council has done a lot of things this year. They have organized the Student-Faculty Auction, Father-Daughter Dinner Dance, October Fest, Santa's Workshop, revised the dress code ffor dinner and for schoolj and assisted in making Study Hall a comfortable place for all. All their efforts were to make the relationship better between indi- viduals on the campus. Of course, without the guidance of Mrs. Kershaw and Mr. Heaney it probably wouldn't have been accomplished. So we give you our sincere thanks. We regret that there aren't any pictures of these working, responsible people. The students elect a fellow student whom they feel is loyal, responsible, has leadership qualities, is dependable and because she has concem for the school is willing to give of herself fully. This year these qualities were acknowledged in Dawna. Dawna, who has been at St. Anne's for six years has proven worthy of this title. Her school spirit has increased each year. She has volunteered and has been elected to numerous offices, and duties, which are only held by the responsible and trustworthy such as Dawna. She was elected president of the junior Class and during her sophomore year director of the spring play. Dawna. has also been elected Student Council Vice-President by her fellow students. Dawna truly represents the ideal St. Anne's student. We wish her luck with all her ulti- mate concerns. W Ana' Court FIRST ROW: Lorraine Lee, Denise Montiero. SECOND ROW: Michelle Emmett, Dawna Montiero, Queen Ioani Decells, Yolanda Pena, Diane Moore. St. Anne's is a school composed of many beautiful traditions, the most beautiful being May Day. It is held on Mother's Day, the Feast of Our Lady. For this special day the students elect a girl who has demonstrated mother- like characteristics. Among these are kindness, consideration for others, understanding and the ability to give of' herself unselfishly. This year our May Queen is Joni DeCelles. She possesses these characteristics, therefore she has been rewarded with this honorable position. The celebration of May Day is held in the spring. Joni, our Queen is full of beauty and the aliveness which spring time brings. Peaceful with a compassionate smile that radiates with love, Joni is an ideal queen. We are glad we know someone as sincere as Joni, for our friend and May Queen. 81 Christmas Q fm 'HL Q .HN I me I'm in love with Santa. Can't get it through! Santa said Ho, Ho, HO. . .
