BASKETBA LL Much more seasoned in basketball than in football, St. Ann's live put on a good show for their fans during the '45-'46 season. Though they lost nearly all the non-league games, the thriller was Lansi I-ligh's defeat. Of the regular league games, they dropped only one, which made a play- off for the second half necessary. The contest was staged on the East Mauch Chunk floor, but fate decided against the Purple and Gold. The next battle was waged in Coaldale High Gym and the Crusaders won the game and the league crown. This victory entitled us to tangle with Easton Catholic. The encounter took place in the Easton High School Gym, from which St. Ann's came home defeated. Left to right, kneeling: Francis Furey, lack Cannon, Charles Breslin, Captain Ioe Kocon, Frank Stachina, Mario Delpero and Connie Boyle. Standing: Coach lim Blakney, Francis Bubak, William Donavan, Regis Dale, George Demetriades, Eddie Boyle and Father loseph Curran. e6333
