SENIOR YEAR With the mantle of seniorship placed upon our shoulders, we began the last lap of our high school journey. Our number was augmented by the com- ing of Frances Stachina. No new subjects were added to our roster, but we felt ourselves pursued by the Hound of Heaven and sat with King Arthur at the Round Table. Our anthologies made us poetry conscious and one of our number, Theresa Ogozalek, had her poem, Dreaming, published in the National High School Anthology. Eton hats in our class colors were the envy of the underclassmen. The spotlight shone on us in the presentation of Thanks Awfullyn at our senior social. Attendance at the regional press conference in Mahanoy City woke our journalistic senses and three editions of SILVER PENNIES, as well as the Year Book, were the result. Prom night found us leading the grand march. A spiritual retreat was something new and a treat to our souls. Class Day and Sing a Song of Sixteen found us before the footlights and an apprecia- tive audience. Graduation -our diplomas in our possession -finds the cur- tains of our high school days closing on the Class of '46. SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS Senior Class Officers of St. Ann's High School, Lansford, are. left to right: Edward Boyle, Treasurer: Helen Crampsie, Secretary: Joseph Kocon, Vice-President, and Iohn Nowak, President. 24

23 1292 JUNIOR YEA R With eager anticipation, we commenced our junior year. Mary Iaso, Iolin Uillwert, and Francis CJ'l,eary did not return, but two ol these Vacancies were lilled lvy Mary Nlelley and Edward Boyle. Chemical symbols and formulae were not nearly so terrifying as we had anticipated, and we soon learned to balance equations with skill. We found another use for our mirrors as we practiced the sounds of the letters as used in French. We also found out what Cicero had to say against Cfataline. At our annual social we thrilled our audience with our antics in The l.it- tle l2ed School House. Much of our leisure was spent in dreams of and plans for the lunior-Senior prom. Now we were eligible, not to lwe invited. lwul to invite our friends to our first formal. Promotions in Iunc made us - yes, seniors.
