In our three years at St. Angela Hall Academy, we have been taking the regular course, which is a little different from that described by the Mock Turtle: Reeling and Writhing, of course, French, music and washing . . . extras . . . then the different branches of Arithmetic . . . Ambition, Distrac- tion, Uglification and Derisionf' If we didn't know what Uglification is, the Mock Turtle's explanation is as follows: It means . . . to . . . make . . . anything . . . prettierf' fWell, at sweet sixteen can any girl be prettier? That is a question left unansweredj We too have our Mystery subjects, described by the Mock Turtle. Mystry, ancient and modern, with Seaographyg Drawing, Stretching and Fainting in coilsf' The last subjects in the Mock Turtle's school were Laughing and Grief. How many days have we the 3B Class laughed at life! We have had good times, without much grief, except when report cards are mailed to our homes. The Mock Turtle had a curious plan which Alice considered quite delightful. Shoud we follow this idea, it might bring us to the days of Regents. Here is the reason the Looking-Glass creatures give for calling subjects lessons: because they lessen from day to day. For example: You have ive hours of lessons the first day, four hours the next day, and thus they lessen until . . . well . . . there are no more lessons. MARGUERITE STEVENS. We've never Won fame in athletic activities, but we do all We must, neither adding nor omitting anything. Our odd moments are spent discussing current movies, books, stars and bands. Of all our subjects, history affords the most occasion for fun. Latin ranks high on the list of perplexers. French gives us the shivers and chemistry lab. the sniffles. Our Religion period almost inevitably terminates in a fit of giggles. Worry, you ask? Yes, the fatal Week before, We break out all over, bite our nails to the quick, bury our heads in books, and omit lunch. Pm sure you're wondering what kind of seniors welll make. Well, so are we.
