The WEE BAGPIPEH FOOTBALL TEAM ITH only six letter men back on the squad, Coach Hand began work immediately after school opened. Due to the lack of players he was handicapped in forming a line, but the back field work was excellent. The team encountered all teams in the con- ference and Davidson Freshmen. Even though the playing does not show so well in points, the score in sportsmanship is one seldom excelled. The freshmen contributed strongly to the team, proving that we should have an excellent team next season. Home-coming game was played late in October with Brevard as the opposing team: great work was shown in passes and runs by both teams, and Brevard carried the score with 18 to 6. 6 BASKETBALL TEAM HE Basketball Team this year had a very successful season. With six letter men returning, and with a promising group of Freshmen, Coach Hand trained these men into an excellent team, a team which showed the highest example of sportsmanship. The team, led by those letter men, encountered many strong opponents and played admirably. The boys always played head's-up ball. Entering the junior College tournament at Davidson, we lost to one of the strongest teams in the conference. Some of the best players being Freshmen. an indication is seen that a stronger team will be developed next year.
