Sister Constance Mary l Here, Sister Constance Mary is welcomed by Mary lane Murphy, Sister Su- perior, Sue Hitchcock, Sue Gold, and Mary Pat Hitchcock. Retreat Everyone agreed that this year's re- treat was one of the best ones St, Andrew's has ever had. lt was con- ducted by Father Deegan, who inspired us to examine our consciences and, by the end of the retreat, have some posi- tive resolutions made, On one day in October, sounds of laugh- ter echoed through the school as we ba- nanas sat listening with undivided atten- tion to the fascinating tales of Sister Con- stance Mary. She, very wittily, told us about missionary life in Basutoland, about its people, its customs, its sacrifice. As she talked, all of the girls began to realize what a wonderful person she is - not only to dedicate her life to God, but also to go to a foreign and uncivilized land to bring Christ's teachings to those so much less fortunate than ourselves. 1 i i 79
