CLASS HISTORY We, the class of 1947, entered St. Alphonsus on a September day in '45, green and bewildered with our new surroundings We assembled for the first time as a class to elect Rita Johnson, President: Jane Donovan, Vice President, and Bob Kertz, Secretary-Treasurer On. December v,we girls entered the Soddlity of Mery, donned the white and blue capes, and took part in the processions during the year in honor of Our Lady During the Sophomore year, Jane Donovan was elected President, Bob Kertz, Vice-President, and Rita Secretary Treasurer. Three from our Sophomore dass,Jane Donovan, Bob Kertz, and Rosemary Andrys, were to play the leads in our operetta, uCaptain of1 eGumrdn Johnson, selected As Juniors, under the leadership of Jane Donovan, with Bob Kertz and Geneva Backes, as her assistants, we sponsored the Junior-Senior Banquet and Prom.The pnxmeds a gala Prom and Banquet. As Seniors, the Student Council, under the leader ship of Bob Kertz, was organized and later sponsored a dance that set aside money for a permanent bzxsk etball . 6 li . f Jw 4 . The basketball squad boasted six members from our 5 f class.
