V JANUARY CLASS HISTUHY Twenty one, staunch, determined, but frightened Freshmen were we, as we timidly opened Saint Agnes' doors four years ago. Huddled to- gether in our adaptable to every occasion hall, we were greeted first by Sister Mary Agnes, and then by Sister Anthilia, our Freshman official, who braved through those typical Freshman blunders with us. Many strange things bewildered us during the first few weeks, but none so strange as Eileen's gym suit which gracefully draped her ankles. We wondered if it wasn't a little bit large. Under the pressure of our first president, Barbara Ryan, we buckled down to foreign subjects. Algebra puzzled us, biology fascinated us, and English proved to be the cause of it all. We will always remember Maryalice's unique answer to Sister Anna Loretto's famous question: Explain the Blessed Trinityl'- I can't Sister, it's a mystery. The school suffered untold woe when Celeste brought her frozen fish head into biology and left it on the radiator to thaw. In the fall we returned to the Sem, civilized Indiansn and gradually we began to doubt that there was a swimming pool on the sixth floor. December came and Kathy and Maryjo brought the Christmas spirit into our room by spraying plastic snow over us. In the twinkle of an eye our Green Years were over, and full fledged Sopbr were we. All would have been hopeless when we were doomed to geometry, had it not been for our information please - Marie who was always available. In September Sister Regina Assumpta welcomed us and we spent the term admiring her attractive room decora- tions. Regents didn't seem to worry our double-trouble team, Mary Curly and Mary Heney, whose favorite pastime was rearranging desks so that we couldn't find our books. When the Regents had passed Cbut had we?J, we seemed to hear the old Grandfather Clock ticking faster than usual and it didnit seem possible that half of our education at Saint Agnes Seminary was over. !-all 4,- 2 3 5 47

In January, we found ourselves ferreting out Cataline's conspiracy side by side with Cicero and Sister Margaret Teresa, and intermediate became our bitter enemy. The highlight of our junior Year was Mary- jane's Sweet Sixteen Party, attended by the entire class at the K. of C. Returning from vacation we found ourselves in Sister Maura Michaela's official where we spent some of the best hours of our lives. We still won- der what Sister thought, when we turned her room into an Indian reser- vation. It was Sister Maura Michaela who had to bear patiently with us on Ring Day. After jubilantly receiving our rings from Sister Mary Agnes, we left for Kathy's house where we devoured all available food. We then headed for Radio City. Friends and strangers alike ,were given the full benefit of viewing the red and gold bands as we travelled from Radio City to the Hotel New Yorker. No one will ever forget Grace- marie's embarrassment when she found herself sitting on the dining room floor of the New Yorker after attempting to tip her chair to view the Ice Show. Pat, Peggy, and Barbara Thomas have locked in their memories the hours they spent that night searching for the right train in Penn Station. In September, truly Seniori, we moved in with Sister Florence Jose- phine and welcomed Sister Charitina as our new principal. The Prom was foremost in our minds and as the enchanted night crept upon us, our favorite ejaculation became, Please, Saint Anne, get me a man. We didn't fully appreciate Sister Jean Anna's belief that the best way to learn the Declaration of Independence was to write it. The last few weeks sped rapidly by, filled with the excitement and cheer of our last Christmas at the Sem. Preparations for the Holly Hop began in which we introduced our protegees, Marypat, Maryjane, and Cathrine, glim- mering across the stage as three of our nine Glow Worms. The Re- gents and Class Day left us in a daze, and as each event passed, it seemed to mark the closing of four happy years. Now, we are looking back over those four years as we bid our last farewell to the Sem, cheered by the thought that we will always possess these fond memories. 7.
