STARDUST Our four years at St. Agnes have ended, all we have left are Memories The days of old were ours, our hearts were gay and light, dancing a pathway through life. Yes! Now we are leaving, but we shall always remember the happy days of four fabulous years. The Hrst year was a little bit of heaven, as twenty-seven eager but frightened freshmen entered the gate of St. Agnes. With a little hesitation we approached the school, and soon found our appointed classroom. Our new official teacher, Sister Agnes Dorothy was also a beginner at St. Agnes. There were many rules and many traditions to learn, but we weren't frightened, for we could all learn together. Soon we met our seniors and before we has a chance to realize it we were being hazed. We must have looked rather silly with one large shoe and one large slipper, as we trudged along the halls, our hair neatly combed into ten little pig-tails tied with red and yellow bows. But then our father's shirt and two bath towels, pinned one down the front and one down the back, added nothing to our glamour. We hoped that with the sun glasses and band- aids on our faces, no one would recognize us. The pail of food that we'd brought for our hungry seniors, didn't last very long. Finally hazing was over and we settled down to business. Latin, Algebra and Biology were new, but certainly not half as bad as we had been warned. The following month we were inspired by the devoutness of the girls during our first retreat, and not long afterwards our first term had ended. The summer was over and twenty-two overjoyed Semites returned to St. Agnes as Civilized Freshmen! There was much Happy Talk of the things we'd done-then our noses to the grindstone again. Sr. Inviolata taught us how to water plants and we ourselves learned to put amphibious animals, such as bears, whales, and alligators into the fishbowl. We had many laughs over the Halloween costumes, much excitement over the Tea Danceg then suddenly-Christmas. The traditional Christmas play brought joy to our hearts and we too entered into the spirit of Christmas. Soon after Christmas was over, tests began and, of course we all passed. We were well on the Winding Trail , for now at last we were senior sophomores. We sadly said good-bye to two more classmates as we were introduced to two new subjects, French and Geometry. As we struggled through je parle, tu parles, il parle and acute, right and obtuse angles, Sister Nazaretta gave us each a private interview. The end of the term and once again it was summer. 'I7
