A four year academic course was stzirtecl two years later with classes also in the elementary school. 1924 saw the completion of the new huilcling, It soon out-grew itself so that twelve years later a third story was aclclecl. Saint Agnes has undergone 11 tremendous change. Except for typing the commercial courses have been discontinued while the academic course has been enlarged. Saint gnes Cathedral High School Mother Petra was the Hrst principal. She directed the elementary as well as the high school until age and illness forced her to relinquish her duties. She surrendered her soul to God in 1940. Succeeding Mother Petra was Sister NI. Dolores Rosaire who capahly administered her duties until 1943 when Sister Francis Jerome became principal. During her administration plans for the school ex- tension were formulated. These plans were real- ized after Nlother Bernadette de Lourdes took over the leadership in 1950. She saw the increase of boys in the school and the development of an athletic program. Sister Henry joseph, our present principal, wit- nessed the enrollment soar to almost 800 students, hoys and girls nearly equally divided. Sister has worked unceasingly for the students and the school. Everyone can manifest his love for the school in both his academic work and social behavior by setting an example that could serve as a standard for the future students. This marks a new era. The school has officially changed its name to St. Agnes Cathedral High School. Ill Ni - ibid 11-311'
