Dedication During the past year God has seen fit to place us in the care of our first bishop of this new diocese, His Excellency, the Most Rev. Walter P. Kellenberg. We consider it an honor and a privilege to dedicate our yearbook to him, and to include a record of his first year in the infant diocese, His Excellency's personality, sense of humor and friendliness have endeared him to all. His genuine interest in all activities, have made him especially successful in his important position. Hardly was he established in his new see, than he attended our first musical concert, and on testimonial day he distributed awards to the students. On the opening day of school, the bishop said Mass for the entire student body, During Catholic Youth Week, His Excellency's wholehearted support influ- enced the students and helped them to acquire the true spirit of this project with zest and fervor. On Catholic Youth Day, the Bishop said Mass at an altar made by high school students and wore vestments designed and sewn by teenagers. The alb, amice, and cincture were made by His real appreciation, St. Agnes girls. and his intense love for us, his youth, his excellent sermon. was shown in During the Christmas season the Bishop attended the Christmas assembly. These are just a few of the many school activities at which our leader was present, and by this very presence he has given his approval and support. Bishop Kellenberg has become a truly popular leader and shepherd. ln him we see fulfilled the command of Christ to lead His flock closer to God, and this he will do with the guiding light of Mary, Queen of heaven and earth.
