BERNARDS Bernie homecoming is always a joke and this year the joke was on them as they bit the dust 24-8 through touchdowns by Belde, Novaczyk and Mishukanis. BRADY After two big games the expected let- down didn't appear as the defense squelched Bradys razzle dazzle and the offense walked through, around and over Brady unmolested for 33 points. WINONA Another 33 points only this time the other guys got 18 and actually made it close. Line- backer Ron Hauth returned an interception sixty yards for a touchdown to turn things around. GRACE Belde and Mishukanis scored six touch- downs in a scoring orgy to end all scoring orgies. The first half was a ping pong match with fifty five points scored but things settled down to a 61-22 final setting up the championship game. limi

ST. JOHNS-After 56 days of work it all came down to 48 minutes of s-g . ln the first half the St. Agnes offense didn't have its hand on the ball long enough to read the trademark as St. johns built a 14-0 lead behind the running of half- back john Crain. Prodded by a Heller halftime harangue St. Agnes drove for its first score, a touchdown by Steve Belde. After more offensive plodding Steve Fuerst broke through with a touch- down pass to Terry Novaczyk to capture the lead at 15-14. But St. johns retaliated with six points and took a lead they never relinquished. Yes, a St. Agnes fumble on the St. johns two and a safety followed, but for all intents and purposes it was over. From the hot beginning in August to the cold finale in October it was their year. Through all the statistics and records and comebacks and victories and that one rotten loss it was their year.
