Father John Capristran Gruden, the fifth pastor of St. Agnes parish . . . priest, author, educator, and builder! A former professor at the St. Paul Seminary, Father Cruden authored a 400 page book, The Mystical Clzrisl. During his 18 year pastorale at St. Agnes, the new grade and high school, the rectory. the hasement chapel. an addition to the high school, and a new convent became a reality. Retired from active duty. Father Cruden is now living in California. Close in the wake of Father Cruden's retirement was the ap- pointment of Father Merth to a pastorate. Assistant at St. Agnes from 1950, Father Robert Merth was appointed pastor of tht- church of St. Gregory, Lafayette, lVlinnesota, Decernher 6, 1955. Remembered and esteemed by the Aggies of the past and the present as a friend, a teacher and counsellor. Father Merth was the spark behind athletic activities. Rev. Hohert J. lVlerth
