AFTERNOON Craggy tiled roofs flecked with sunshine bake under the hot Peruvian Ra. Bronze berried children Shriek in a courtyard a chant of ioy. Women wrapped in bright stripes, clothed like one ultimate zesty blanket. The men-and their wine-dusky bottles and swarthy cheeks-sweaty, workhard bodies lean back to close their eyes once more. Barbie Hall '74 perhaps it is the quietness that makes you so immeasurable or the hisses of sunlight skipping through your hair or gleaming in your blue soup eyes. or maybe the love of heaven or green earth-trembling daisy bright or child prayer. -or perhaps the sharing of eye rain all in you and me for both perhaps it is the quietness of these that make you so very immeasurable. perhaps it is only quietness then, that can watch quietness with knowing eyes. you are so immeasurable what a very loud loss to be blind. Sparrows cease melodic play and seek comfort in lofty homes, it's raining. Small yellow rain-coated bodies skip along puddled sidewalks, it's raining. Droplets ping into puddles to form their own pools, it's raining. Sunlight slumbers and people bow to winds it's raining. Dreamy thinkers gaze through foggy panes, it's raining.
