A, Linda Smith, Photography Co-Editor J' Jean Shady, Associate Editor thePa!m Once upon a time there was a press room. lt was a large room with gleaming windows, so it was always full of fresh air and sun- shine to inspire the minds of edi- tors and staff. But a dark cloud passed over that era when the school was forced to repossess the Palm room, and turn it into another uniform, mundane class- room. ln the face of this dilemma, the editors found themselves in another room, small and window- less, with a constant temperature of 89 degrees. lt came as a sur- prise to the staff that they would be sharing it with an assortment of classes, from German l, to Ad- vanced Calculus. But fate struck again when the two sides of the room found it difficult to work in harmony. Enter Press Room :H:3, a four by four vacant bed- room below the convent. With no time left to completely move, the editors were forced to work out of two rooms, separated by numerous halls, the cafeteria, and an underground tunnel. Alas, these were difficult times, but surely the editors did rise out of the despairingly dreary depths of discord, to the brilliant ecstacy of achievement. 136 Linda Smith and ' Susan Dziengielewski, Photography Co-Editors

Ski The St. Agnes Ski Club com- pleted its fourth year with a new record - no casualties. Each Friday night for eight weeks, 75 girls took to the slopes of Bristol Mountain. It is said if you can survive the bus ride, Rocket Run holds no threat. Hot chili, heavy boots, frozen hands and toes, ski- school lessons and broken poles will remain in the memories of every Ski Club graduate. Whether you lose a contact lens halfway down the slope or triumphantly per- fect your parallel, it never fails to be a truly remarkable experience. P' ' -0 T1
