4. 14.14. Volleyball, anyone? Or maybe you prefer soccer, basketball, softball or skiing. The G. A. A. has filled its schedule this year with all these activities. Games with Mercy, Naz- areth, Columbia, Kearney, Mooney, and Avon have been held outside, inside, in our gym or theirs. Increasing numbers of girls have been 'seen roaring down the slopes at Bristol. The G. A. A. provides excitement and fun for both spectators and members. 6detoma4,4 idribble, dribble, little ball, how we wonder where you'll falli All around, the masses sit and students cheer in screaming fits. ltravel, travel, teacher dear the referee is drawing neari Teachers make the first two points, though sultering from aching ioints. lout of bounds, you nasty ball! get back in, til half time's called.i Slster Jean forgets to duck, becomes first fowler -- that's her luck! i rah - rah - ree! yell varsity fans, they wildly stamp and clap their hands.i Maria Nichols gets rebounds and Bruckle whips that ball around, and makes a basket every time. To call that less than best is crime. iwho is next to substitute? Perhaps Miss Dutcher? She looks so cuteli Father Cushing plays well, indeed and Mr. Smith has amazing speed. Add Mr. Herbert to this pair and they're so good, it's hardly fair. l water, water, pleads Sister Jean can't cross this line? you sure are mean! i The score changes fast, the difference is vast. No, wait, it's now close, so which team can boast? lgrapefruit, grapefruit on my shirt squeeze your's hard to get a squirt.l Such spirit was shown by the fans in the bleachers, And no one believed that these were our teachers. Two such sillies put on a half-time show Sr. .loan and Sr. Carol carried on so. The game ended soon after this commotion, and although faculty won, we have our own notion. PM The Joint language Club, the re- cent merger of the French, Span- ish and Latin Clubs, has combined to bring a greater span of dis- covery. Activities range from Latin Week with proiects involving the gods or model Roman houses, with a celebration complete with Roman hostesses, reminding all that Latin lives, to a Spanish Fiesta. This consists primarily of a dinner with constant attempts at following Spanish culture. Anoth- er experience is discovering how Christmas is celebrated in France. The meetings provide informa- tion on the customs and cultures of the ditiferent peoples. There has been discussion of holidays in the various countries, speakers such as our exchange student from Brazil, Mary Carmen San- chez, one of our language teach- ers, Mrs. Zilioux who is from Germany, and also a general sharing of knowledge about the diFferent peoples of the world. 133 ,S ' F 0' ' The Library Club is made up of students from every class who volunteer their free time to help W Sisters Mary Stephen and Marie Vincent keep the library running smoothly. Ski The St. Agnes Ski Club com- pleted its fourth year with a new record - no casualties. Each Friday night for eight weeks, 75 girls took to the slopes of Bristol Mountain. It is said if you can survive the bus ride, Rocket Run holds no threat. Hot chili, heavy boots, frozen hands and toes, ski- school lessons and broken poles will remain in the memories of every Ski Club graduate. Whether you lose a contact lens halfway down the slope or triumphantly per- fect your parallel, it never fails to be a truly remarkable experience. P' ' -0 T1
