Juniors love to travel, especially after a recent field trip to the airport, which left many Iunior historians eager to take to the skies. This time a trip to court impressed several students. Of course, they just went to observe. Cee, Diary, you should have seen the Iunior Skit at the basketball supper. Bravery medals were pinned on courageous Home Nursing students who presented a farce of a normal class in Home-Nursing. 1 .Diary, this is my big moment. . .floating down the forbidden Blue Stairs with my date, tho traditional visit, and off to twirl to the danceable melodies of Ed Sullivan's orchestra in the plush Houston Club. A perfect Iunior Prom! How many calories in chicken, potato salad, and beans, Diary? Oh well, who cares? Today's the Iurgory-Senior picnic! Good food, happy spirits, and frolicing upperclassmen made this a day to remem er. ' Now, let,s give a cheer for Rosanette Saragusa and Dayna Strother who will lead the Eagles to victory as St. T omas Cheerleaders. To end this year of wonderful events, the Juniors joined wholeheartedly in St. Agnes' tribute to Mary in her Marian Year, and Liturgical Day. The Sodality picnic, The promotion so dear, Say farewell, but yet promise A great Senior Year! SENl0R YEAR If I should appear to be walking in the clouds, don,t worry. They say it happens to all Seniors, but I can,t say I feel any different from last year. Dear Diary, Rooms 1, 3, and 13 have been taken over by the Seniors, and guiding our classes are Sisters Andrew, De Lourdes, and Baptista. Since this is Orientation Week, let's get acquainted, meet my 'little sisterf Starting off the new year right, we elected Mary Mead, Student Body President. A wonderful person, Mary has received many honors during her four years at St. Agnes, the highest of which was her election to Girls' Nation. A band of gold, a motto of truth, encircling the memories of twelve rewarding years. . .this is my Senior Ring, Diary. Out to lunch! That's the sign you'll see on every Senior homeroom door Tuesdays and Thursdays, for this is one of our Senior privileges. Boo! Witches and goblins are on the prowl today. T hey're heading for the Senior Halloween Party. Grabbing up their brooms, the entire student body turned out for a fun-filled afternoon. Pigtails and toothless grins! A new fad? No, just the Seniors, again, reverting to childhood on Little Kid Dayf' Even Santa came to our Christmas party, Diary. Songs, stories, and games left all the Seniors in a happy-holiday mood. We danced to the festive music of Tony Martin's orchestra in the Texaco Country Club as we attended our last annual Christmas Dance. Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest, most popular, and best citizen of them all? Did I hear you say Sue Armer for beauty, Kitty Day for popularity, and Mary Mead for the best citizen? Congratu ations on a fine selection. Our last retreat, Diary. Father Monahan made it a most meaningful one for us. ' We,re building a new St. Agnes with paper. fDon't take it literally.j It wonlt take long at the rate everyone is working. Paper drives are loads of fun because everyone is working together. Well, Diary, I guess it,s about time to say goodbye. These have been a wonderful four uears, - - - the best four years of my life. If I could only look into the future to tell you about our Senior Prom, Senior Play, graduation, and all the exciting things that happen the latter part of our Senior -11 . . 1 . ,-. r-.. Skit Day ------ B At last we got to act! Gym suits a M Paree! Our style show proved that even those bloomers could have that 'Dior' look. Sophomore Hop ------ And a gay time was had by all. . . Apple Day ------ Good little students that we always are, everybody brought Miss Elder an apple! Laughingly, she remarked, I bet you are hoping 'an apple a day keeps the teacher away', but no such luck! Eskimo Day ------ Today we journeyed to Alaska, Diary. In dreams, that is. Miss Elder shared with us her re- membrances of teaching days there. Real cool, we hear. How-To-Do-I t Day ------ Added to the wrinkles in my cerebellum are a few facts every soph should know. A recipe for avacado salad, the art of make-up, and how to sell Chili Tarts were among the interesting experi- ments which took place on Miss Elder's desk. Mice Day ------ Mice in St. Agnes? Heavens, no, Diary! ft's only we sophs nibbling at Miss Elder's treasured piece of birthday cake. -But to make amends, the guilty ones each produced a mouth-watering cake, and in turn, our friendly teacher invited all of us to join the tea party. Election Day ------ Reigning over the sophomore class as most beautiful is Mary Frances Gore, most representative, Camille Tamborello, and as most popular, Katie McDonald. Z Retreat followed Exams, and Father Diefenbach really brought our attention to our spiritual ives. Class picnics ------ Especmll the one at Sacred Heart College when we swam in a downpour of Texas showers, wound up a delightful year of being underclassrnen. And the Juniors have moved into Rooms 2, with Sister Hilary, 9 with Sister Emile, and 13 with Sister Baptista. . . ' The Juniors are now sporting their class pins, and gosh, Diary, they're the prettiest yet! Beware, Diary! There is an epidemic of gypsy fever spreading through the Iunior class. Golden earrings, fortune cookies, and gypsy love potion on Iunior Gypsy Day, and gypsy invasion of the T. V. studios proved to be just Juniors in dis-guise. The mood is set for the ong-awaited Operetta, The Gypsy Troubadourn! With Thamer Sacco, the song-bird of our class, playing the lead of Rosita, our presentation was every success we wished. And, Diary, the cast party at Blanton Memorial was an ideal way to end the memorable evening. We Juniors really know how to pick 'em . . .favorites, I mean. Breaking the ribbons as winners were: Annette De Walch, beauty, who also was honored as the St. Thomas Homecoming Queen, Ioan Day, popularity, and Mary Mead, representative. f This Christmas we danced to Ed Gerlach's magical music in the Crystal Ballroom of the Rice Hotel.
