We are proud of this edition of the yearbook - the 1955 Veritas - and we wish to express our sincerest gratitude to those who have helped to make its success possible. By the kind generosity of our advertisers and patrons this student proiect has been made possible. The patient understanding of Mr. and Mrs. Don Perrine and all the De Marler staff is truly appre- ciated. Also we wish to thank Mr. Peter Whitney for his help with the photography. We would also like to thank Sister 'Hilary for her generous assistance. Last but certainly not least we would like to express in words what every staff member and classmate feels toward dear Sister Andrew. For her untiring efforts when we were deiected, for her endless patience when we were hasty, and especially for her kind direction when we went awry, we say Thank You. The Class of 1955. A B1-lllllll 0F THE PAPER DRIVE l There once was a senior, Mary Jones was her name, Now Mary Jones was lazy, as much as could be. She went to St. Agnes, a school of great fame. She didn't bring her papers, and her class lost, you lt seems they were having a great paper drive, The seniors were angry, 'cause the sophomores did And the losers had rather be dead than alive. And they know it was 'cause of Mary's great sin. CHORUS lChorusl Mary Jones, Mary Jones, is now in the grave-yard, Alone with her bones. Then down by the river, this girl she did roam She thought of her sin, and let out a great moan ll Then into the river poor Mary did dive Now, this paper drive was a monstrous affair, And now this dear girl is no longer alive. All of the classes brought their papers there. fChorusl But the sophomores had won, and the seniors were sad, And poor Mary Jones was a-feeling so bad. QChorusJ Now when seniors' papers are piled upon high, You'Il see Mary Jones' ghost go floating right by. So take my advice and do all you can, At each paper drive, and then you might win. lChorusD Elizabeth Lake, Thamer Sacco, Betty Jasper A if E za I I t it X
