Margaret Sweeney and Mary Magna represented us at the Sodality Convention in San Antonio Adele won honorable mention on her essay entry in the American Youth Forum Contest Francese, Mary Louise and Dixie June learned how to make a type writer write Katherine Read showed promise of becoming a successful physicist as well as an accomplished artist Clara Louise continued to develop her talent as a pianist Mary Eleanor entertained her English class with her original and lnterestlng oral themes COMING TO MILESTONE FOUR At last the much awaited Senior year truly came It was as great as we had anticipated Early in October we brushed off the Welcome mat to greet Mary Alice a newcomer from Chicago and to hail the home coming of Dorothy H111 after an absence of two years Elizabeth an other old friend returned too and was made oilice aSSlSt3I'1t a real com phment to her dependability Book Week was duly observed by a radio broadcast entitled Canter who was converted to Chaucer and Evelyn Ruthenbeck as Lady Prioress gave a sp1end1d interpretation of that delightful character At Chrlstmas Catherine Loonam showed her skill in filling baskets for the poor-our most efficient social worker Patsy and Cecilia came up to the front in their pantry shelf lists Both won prizes in a nat1on wide contest In our Shakespeare classes Sally Mary Jane and Anna helped us to have a real appreciation of Hamlet Macbeth and King Lear In the Music Department Margaret Lamb Bernice and Rosemary stepped into the limelight when they passed the State Music Examination with flying colors Margaret Thompson was elected President of the Orchestra and she has distinguished herself as the leading trumpeter of St Agnes The many rounds of gay parties this spring climaxed a br1ll1ant year at St Agnes And happy with memories of the past and hope for the future We arrive at Milestone Five CLARICE NORSWORTHY 39 MARGARET SWEENEY 39 HELEN NEWPORT '39 MARY FOURMY 39 , - ' ' - ' I if ,, p . , I I , .Q 1 9 - 9 ' 9 is 9 ' bury Belles, when Lois Sheehan showed her histrionic ability as the Junior S . 5 , , . , 3 I ' 1 5 , 9 I , Q Q , 3 ,
