Since her arrival in 1944 at SAA, Sister Virginia has dedicated herself untiringly to the advancement of Catholic education in our com- munity. As a result of her wise insight, her countless sacrifices, and her warm concern for every student who passed through our school, Sister Virginia has proven to be a most unforgettable administrator and teacher. May the presence of this valiant woman always be felt within our walls at SAA. 2

Since its first beginning in 1906, St. Agnes Academy has undergone ad- ditions, subtractions, renovations, and reconstruction; each change being in its own particular time and situation an attempt to meet the needs of Holy Rosary Parish. Thus SAA has never ceased to begin anew as the signs of the times have dictated. Now in 1972-73, we have seen another new beginning as St. Agnes became solely a junior-senior high school, a conversion that has not been with- out its sense of loss. Through all her many changes, however, the center of all her activity has remained steadfastly focused upon the very essence of her existence—HE WHO IS. May this 1973 Crusader Annual celebrate this ancient tradition in another new beginning.
