ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN. . . and usually, it does at St. Agnes. . . . August 30 and 31, 139 students registered and selected their courses for the school year of 1963-64. . .. Classes began with a half-day of school on Tuesday, Sep- tember 3. . . . And the VERY FIRST MORNING there was a SURPRISE FIRE DRILL. (It was a SURPRISE to everyone, even to Sister Virginia, the Principal. ) tU things that . And Timmy Brittan, the third grade boy who pulled the fire alarm, had to pay the $5. 00 fine from the precious 'Jubilee coins' he had been saving. , THE FOOTBALL SEASON gave us a record of 1 win to 8 lost games. All the students were grieved by the sudden death of Officer Mahlon Cass on November 5. He was a real friend to each of the students. November 22 brought the sad news of Presi- dent John F. Kennedy's assassination. SPONSOR: JOHN DEERE, ALLIANCE, NEBRASKA

Yes, ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN. . . But EVERYONE, including Sister Virginia, was happy the day Jim Kosmicki received a telegram from Senator Hruska, informing Jim that he was one of five competitive alternates for an appoint- ment to the Naval Academy at Annapolis. Sometimes the monthly assemblies were very pleasant, and SOMETIMES they were very ser- ious, but usually, — they WERE VERY EFFECTIVE! lU PEOPLE SPONSOR: COAST TO COAST HARRY AND HELEN SALE: OWNERS
